Vs 1 – 2 we who know the truth and know what sin is are expected to watch out for those who don’t. We each have our own battles with sin but are expected to help others through their personal struggle not drag them down further. Which is hard, how do we always know if we drag someone down? It could be completely innocent in our eyes like giving them an unhelpful book to read.
Vs 3 – 4 keep forgiving, however much someone hurts you forgive them. Whatever they do, forgive them. Even if they keep repeating the hurt or the sin. If we come back to Jesus truly sorry he WILL forgive us. Since we are striving to be like Jesus then we should do the same.
Vs 5 – 6 this one I struggle with, if you are praying for someone to be healed who’s faith heals them? If they are not a Christian yet are healed is it because you believe? If you don’t think they will be healed yet they are is it because their faith is strongest? Faith might be as small as a mustard seed but how STRONG does that mustard seed have to be? I don’t know.
Vs 7 – 10 don’t do things expecting thanks, we need to do serve people because it’s what Jesus wants us to do. If we only did things because we wanted thanks then that would be selfish. Be humble.
My thoughts. Most of what I’ve said you probably know but take it or leave it :-) bless you.
hmm.. one of those mish mash bits. I think teh troublesome verses 5-6 were Jesus and disciple banter, a bit like the get behind me satan thing. Not sure we're supposed to understand it all.
